Knowledge Capture

It is essential to prevent the extermination of USAID’s legacy through the creation of a digital hub that captures international development knowledge as USAID staff process out of the Agency. There is also an urgent need to locate, preserve, and eventually manage USAID’s knowledge and expertise to elevate the awareness of USAID’s impact over the last six decades and ensure it is accessible to rebuild American leadership in development in the future.

Coherent Digital recognized the damage perpetrated against USAID’s legacy and immediately began collecting documents to create a “USAID Commons” hub that will be readily searchable and free to users (through 2025). With funding from AidTA, Coherent Digital will capture tacit knowledge immediately through interviews in more than 80 USAID countries as well as Washington D.C. before the Administration severs USAID staff and terminates the Agency in three months. The edited interviews and documents stored will be used to produce recommendations on the future of development, humanitarian, and foreign assistance.
