Communications

Immediately following the Administration’s attacks on USAID, a number of communications teams coalesced to push back against the onslaught of disinformation about USAID’s work. With support from AidTA, Stand Up For AID provided compelling relatable stories that Americans could rally behind and created a unique platform to quickly share accurate information through regular situation reports. See this Fact Checker as an example of recently produced material following Secretary Rubio’s testimony on the Hill.

In addition to communications products for policymakers, Stand Up for AID is crafting short video stories to release on social media to educate the general public about how aid cuts impact Americans. They also continue to work with their network of 170+ journalists to craft media stories behind the scenes.

The OneAID Community brought together current and former USAID and implementing partner staff to coordinate the many organizations and individuals who stepped up to fight back against the destruction of international development. AidTA is supporting OneAID in its efforts to convene and coordinate its community of 30+ grassroots organizations, working together to create a platform that equips and informs deeper citizen engagement. If you are interested in learning more and supporting this kind of infrastructure play, please see Oneaidcommunity.org.

ATA is also co-sponsoring USAID’s last global Town Hall on June 30th which will connect thousands of USAID workers across the globe before they separate from USAID so they can hear words of appreciation from former USAID Administrators and others, while sharing videos and photos of the impact of more than 60 years of USAID’s work to improve the human condition.
